Mihails Lucenko, started at Brighter Futures Leicester Campus. Studying for the BTEC Extended Diploma in Sport, Mihails has thrived in the education combined with coaching environment and straight away showed exceptional footballing ability. He was placed in the 1st team in year 1 and in year 2 stepped up to becoming team captain.

Mihails has shown his high level of intelligence from the off and developed a good understanding throughout the two years of what is expected of him. Mihails joined the academy as a strong positive individual who was outgoing and focused. Mihails has shown an interest in becoming a professional footballer and wanted to develop as much as possible. He played football outside of college as was always keen to participate in sessions regardless of the weather. Mihails knew that not only was it important to try his best outside on the pitch, but it was vital that he performed well in the classroom.

Dan joined the Brighter Futures Bedworth United Programme in September 2021 and is completing a 2-year study programme, hoping to achieve a L3 Extended Diploma in Sport, Coaching and Development. Dan has worked really hard and shown an excellent level of commitment to continue his studies. He has progressed to become an elite player within our academy and has recently been selected to trial at Burton Albion FC in League 1.

Dan has a back-up contingency plan, so that if he did not make it as a professional footballer, he is looking to progress to university and work full time in professional sport. The study programme has helped Dan to develop both his practical ability and his theoretic work, having shown an excellent ability to reflect, evaluate and critically analyse his sports coaching sessions. Dan has also completed numerous Honour Awards, learning about all aspects of British Values, Prevent, Online Safety, Employment CVs and applications forms, Healthy Eating, Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Equality and Diversity.
