Through the delivery of our accredited BTEC qualifications in Performing Arts, students wishing to progress into employment within the Performing Arts industry pick up a range of sector specific skills and knowledge. The Performing Arts Vocational curriculum also supports our students in moving into related industries, allowing for a breadth of opportunity for careers progression which is enhanced by the transferable skills embedded within the wider Study Programme curriculum.
Brighter Futures aims to develop these employability skills within students during the academic year with the intention to support them into meaningful, sustained employment once their education is complete.

Why the Performing Arts Industry is a Good Employment Progression Route?
The Performing Arts are a major part of the creative and cultural industries in the UK, as well as the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport’s aim to increase physical activity levels. Collectively, the creative industries contribute £108bn of Gross Value Added (GVA) in the UK, account for 2.3m jobs and are growing at 1.5 times the rate of the wider economy in the last decade. The UK’s performing arts sector is vibrant, varied and hugely successful. It is a growth industry that offers diverse employment opportunities.
We work in line with Government strategies such as ‘Get Active: A strategy for the future of sport and physical activity’ and Sport England’s ‘Uniting the Movement’ strategy, as well as the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport’s ‘Creative Industries Sector Vision: A joint plan to drive growth, build talent and develop skills’.
