Matthew Davies – Warehousing Apprentice Bullens

Brighter Futures run a number of programmes in conjunction with large local employers such as Liverpool Football Club through their community project LFC Foundation and Liverpool John Lennon Airport. Matt Davies joined our Liverpool John Lennon Airport programme and after completing his induction and work skills went on placement at the airport alongside 7 of his classmates. Matt enjoyed his placement and was unlucky not to gain an apprenticeship with the Airport after completing his English qualification. This setback did not hold him back for long though, and with the help of Brighter Futures and Sysco, Matt was soon successful in gaining a warehousing role with Bullens Healthcare. Matt will complete his Apprenticeship in 2017 and is hopeful of progressing onto level 3.
"Before I joined Brighter Futures I was studying towards my A-Levels at 6th form college. I joined Brighter Futures and I completed a work placement at Liverpool John Lennon Airport for 8 weeks. I also had not achieved grade C in English at GCSE so I worked towards achieving this. As part of my placement I worked in the airfield operations department and learnt how to maintain a safe environment at all times. I gained experience and gained knowledge of the fine detail that is needed when working within the aviation industry. Following my placement I started a warehousing apprenticeship with Bullens Healthcare and finish in June 2017." - Matt Davies Bullens Healthcare
